Cussing in MMORPGs

After playing Rohan Ph for awhile, I noticed that when you decline some of their quest requests, the NPCs will cuss at you saying the "s" and the "f" word. This is most prevalent when you're in the Dhan and Human towns (I'm not going to post it here as there might be some underaged kid reading this blog). I'm pretty sure that Level Up Philippines were already informed of this before hand, but I'm starting wonder why they didn't take it out.

Yo Gabba Gabba: Cool and edgy kiddie show!

Being a parent of a very young child, there will be a lot of times where you will be subjected to watch boring, children/baby-themed shows. There's a particular show out there that has been surviving on reusing the same songs over and over for the last twenty-odd years, and it's starting to get on my nerves. However, there's one show that me and my little girl would always have fun watching and its: Yo Gabba Gabba!

If you ask me, I blame EVE Online

Yes, I've been out for a long time but it's for a good reason: I've been trying out EVE Online for the last few days and I have to say that I have some mixed feelings about it.

Good stuff:

There's no MMO out there that can even come close to becoming EVE's competitor (RFOnline comes to mind). There's a dearth of SciFi- themed MMOs out there, but this game takes the cake and then bakes some more. The ambiance while playing it made me feel like I was in a SciFi movie. The graphics are a work of art, and the ships themselves were impressive to look at.

Things to improve on-stuff:

The pace is slow. I have to admit that experienced EVE Online players already warned me beforehand that it would seem slow to the average MMORPG player, and I have to say they are right. It takes a special kind of player to be able to play this game and stick with it for a long time as Patience is a virtue I really need to work on.

So with my 14-day free EVE Online trial days done, will I go on and pay game time load for the next two months? I'm not sure. Did I have a special time while playing it? Hell yes--it's something that'll linger in my head for a very long time and for that I'll remember that EVE Online took me out of the blogging world for 14 days.

After watching a live telecast fight of the recently held Paquiao vs. Hatton boxing match, I wondered why anyone with an online connection would want to watch a much delayed and over commercialized "via satellite" version of it on local channels.

Free Realms: Why you should play it

There's been so many MMORPGs that are coming out of the woodwork these days, but most of them seem to require a massive amount of time and/or money in order to level well. Then out comes Sony Online Entertainment's Free Realms (FR): a breath of fresh air for any MMORPG player who's tired of all the violence and despair in their realms.
