Allods Online PH has been confirmed!

My guess was as good as I thought it was. Allods is coming to the Philippines!

Allods Online, the biggest game project in Russian history which took $12 million to produce, features breathtaking graphics designed by artists honored at the prestigious global art competition, Dominance War; and a cinematic soundtrack by Mark Morgan.

With stunning visuals and a magnificent orchestral soundtrack inspired by classical, electronica, new age and tribal music – Allods Online guarantees to be a delightful explosion to the eyes and ears.

They just opened their site but has yet to provide any CBT date nor download link for the client. Most likely they will put it up there in a couple of days. Until then feel free to check out my posts on Allods Online.

One game ends, another begins

It wasn't too long ago that Philippine game publishers were adding new games at a rapid clip. It seems that these days they've developed a plan of closing one game and adding a new one a few weeks after. A good example would be eGames closing Supreme Destiny and opening the (ALSO currently closed) ZXOnline. With the addition of Allods Online into the Levelup Philippines list of MMORPGs, it looks like the cycle has been broken (IF Hello Kitty Online opens on Oct 2010).

Just got news from a fellow guildmate regarding Level Up Philippine's newest MMORPG. Check out the vid below:

Now the question is whether the game will have it's server in the Philippines or will it be part of Global Level-up. If it's the former, then it would be great news for PH MMORPG fans as this game had quite a following internationally. If it's the latter then it may have competition with Mobius as they too sell Gpotato Points. Personally, I'm hoping for the former.

Perfect World PH Tideborn: First Day Impressions

Perfect World PH's latest update was announced a long time ago and now it's here! Here are just some impressions of what I got.

Perfect World PH Client

If you downloaded the new client and patch before the start of the Tideborn patch then everything would be ok. It was already stated before that downloading the new client was much more easier than patching the old one on the patch day. Therefore there were lots of complaints both on the Perfect World PH Facebook page and forums on how slow their patches were going. Lesson learned: Read and follow instructions given by the GMs.

There were no problems running the client. Compared to Runes of Magic PH, running the Tideborn client was a breeze. It just shows that Level Up! Philippines really took time to ensure the client is error free before running it. Kudos to the prep team!

In-game

Lag was not a factor! There were some lag spikes but they were very minimal, considering that there were a lot of characters moving at the same time and there were a lot of loots on the ground. Normally it would be a lag fest but there wasn't much of it.

Mob spawn time was excellent! On first days such as these, the number of players would overwhelm the mobs that it would be extremely hard to find one that's still alive to kill (reminds me of my time at Allods where players would fight over mobs). After one monster dies, a new one would appear within 2 seconds! It made finishing quests and leveling up easier and faster!

So there it is! Now, it's time to go back to Perfect World PH!

Perfect World PH: Tideborn Patch Day on July 21!

It's been confirmed that Perfect World PH will have its Tideborn patch on July 21!

You've been waiting for the rise of the legendary race of Pangu that once walked the lands and fought for their freedom. Now, the barrier that separates the World to their home will be shattered on 21st day of the month of July, year of the Tiger.

The Rise of the Tideborne will happen on the July 21, 2010 - Wednesday.

You got a few days to search, collect, and finalize the build for your Assassin or Psychic!

It's Official: Rohan PH new server Armenes opens tomorrow!

It's official! Level-up Game Philippines' Rohan Online will get a new server tomorrow, May 13.

Rohan Philippines is proud to announce that a NEW SERVER will be opened on May 13, 2010. It will be called ARMENES and it’s a brand new world for players to make their mark on.

This new server will not only serve as a fresh start for veterans but it will allow new players to fight toe-to-toe with no fear of uber/hacked weapons/items or bot-levelled highbie characters.

The server will have a more “equal” approach in terms of game balance when it comes to equips, forsaking the existence of “uber” items made popular by the community.

I'm going to try it out tomorrow!

Rohan PH to open new server Armenes

Level-up Game's Rohan will open a new server on May 2010. So far, the only official notice is on the forums: New Blood. New World. Conquer Armenes.

This is a surprising move considering that two servers merged a few months ago because there were few players in one server. There are more players excited over this over the ones who don't like it.

Why they like it:

• A fresh start for old players
• It will allow newbies to play with no fear of getting PK'd (at least for the first 3 days)

Will it fail?

This event reminds me of when iAM Interactive opened a new server in Lineage 2 SEA: Cadmus. When it opened, there were a lot of players who tried it out and the two elder servers were almost ghost towns. However, after a few days, the old players went back to their old servers because they were got tired of starting all over again. In the end, Cadmus was almost empty of players that even the gold sellers didn't enter it.

I hope that the new server will mean new players will try Rohan PH out.

Sorry Virginia, Neosteam won't have a local server, but rather Level Up Games Philippines will make it easier for Neosteam gamers to buy e-pins. Originally I thought that a local server would be great, but I think the international flavor is better. The Global Site is now up and the e-pins are as follows:

Perfect World Ph Extends Its Help to Typhoon Victims

Being one of its victims, Typhoon Ketsana (Ondoy in the Philippines) and Parma (Pepeng in the Philippines) really did a bad number on the Philippines. Me and my family were submerged up to our chests and found it hard to survive on a day to day basis.

It's good then that people in the gaming community have decided to do their part in helping out. One of them is Level-up Games. One of their projects is SOS for Ondoy and Pepeng Victims. All you need to do is get online and buy the Ondoy Relief Package (contains 5 pieces of fireworks) for PHP5.00 only.

Here's my little tribute to the victims.
